Hello

I'm Gabriela Lunardi, from Porto Alegre, Brazil - based in Brisbane, Australia.

I'm currently working as a lecturer at the School of Communication at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). I hold PhD from the Digital Media Research Centre, QUT (2022). During my time as a PhD candidate, I had the opportunity to teach various subjects within the Bachelor of Communication and Digital Media programs at QUT, which was when I discovered my passion for teaching. In addition to my academic background, I have worked for over 3 years in the advertising and marketing industry, primarily as a research analyst. I integrate this practical experience into my teaching.

As for my research endeavours, both my MPhil and PhD theses focused on understanding Brazilian culture in the digital environment. Currently, I'm working on my first book, where I explore the recent transformations in the Brazilian mediasphere and how Brazilian creators for marginalised communities have used YouTube as a means to depict new representations of Brazilian culture.
